Medical Degree – What Jobs Can I Get With One

Whether you are currently studying for a medical degree or if you contemplating it in the near future and you are interested in finding out what kinds career paths are available to you once you graduate, then read on as we’ll discussing your options. Medical Degree Career Route Choices

If you are about to graduate from a medical degree course then other than becoming a doctor or nurse you may also be interested in pursuing one the following medical related career paths:

Dentistry

If you have a keen interest in oral hygiene and have good people skills you may be interested in a career as a dentist either for the N.H.S or within private dentistry practice. With a medical qualification such as a degree you will be able to become either a dentist or dental hygienist.

Sports Medicine

For those medical degree students who have a keen interest in sports and fitness, a career in sports medicine, physiotherapy or osteopathy may be an option worth pursuing.

General Practitioner (GP)

Or if you still want to be a doctor and deal with every day health issues from the general public but don’t wish to work in a hospital environment then you may wish to work as a general practitioner in a local surgery near your home location or further afield.

Medical Research

Other options for medical degree graduates are jobs within the medical research field, which may be of interest, in this field you could research medical cures for diseases such as aids and cancer or find new faster recovery rate treatments for trauma injuries caused in accidents. Of course if you are totally turned off by the idea of getting involved with people’s illnesses and ailments directly, you may wish to pursue a career as a medical journalist or become an author of medical degree course literature. You may even choose to go into the education system and teach others medical sciences though you would need to also complete a teaching qualification in addition to current academic course.
